Tech need not be... tech

Technology has gotten a bad rap. People blame it for everything bad that its introduction has brought to the printing and publishing industry. I feel that technology as it applies to print, publishing, imaging, and graphics in general is nothing less than a revolution. We have been fortunate enough to live in "Interesting Times" throughout this shift towards digitisation of the print process, and its subsequent refinement. Undeniably, technology has brought tumultuous change to an industry that was accustomed to glacial stability and "manageable" technology absorption for centuries. The computer has changed this long-established history in a matter of two decades... physically withing the span of many peoples' careers. Pain needs a scapegoat, and the computer has often been it. This website is a place for me to share my content, my rants, and my interests in a personal, yet professional manner.

That said, please take the time to explore a bit. As I author more content, it will further serve to illustrate my point: it is not technology but its usage and implementation that make modern document publication, distribution, and production happen. A large part of what I do is disseminate complex problems and situations to a minimalistic and coloquial analgy. I like aphorisms.

Ergonomics
The Science of the interaction between man and tool. As tools become more important, so do the little details that entail using those tools. They should evolve their design to meet that need. Software is a tool... and should be scrutinized to the same level of focus on elegant design, and function.
